What Are Stars?
Stars are giant balls of burning gas that light up the night sky. They come in many colors and sizes, from tiny red dwarfs to massive blue giants. (I once thought stars were holes in the sky, oops!)

Stellar Facts
The Sun is a star, and it's the closest one to Earth! Some stars live for billions of years, while others burn out quickly in spectacular explosions called supernovae. (Supernova is a cool word, right?)
